Caterpillar Retirees Club : Community Involvement & Club Activities
PUBLIC OUTREACH PROGRAMS
The Caterpillar Retirees Club objectives lead us to offer support to the community through collecting can goods and money for local food pantries each month, and volunteer by ushering at Peoria Players, Eastlight Theaters, IHSA March Madness for small school basketball tournament at Peoria Civic Center, and helping with Red Cross Blood drives at the Peoria Caterpillar area facilities. Volunteers promote good will and happiness among those they serve. We also get requests from other organizations throughout the year for Caterpillar Retirees to volunteer. Call or stop by the office on Friday’s as we are looking for retirees interested in volunteering to help others. Some just help once a year at our March Madness which this year is being held on March 12 from 10 a.m. until 1 P.M while others just sign up to work 6 times a year at one of the local plant locations for a Red Cross Blood Drives.
MONTHLY PRIVATE FUNCTIONS
Throughout the year the Caterpillar Retirees Cub schedules entertainment, speakers, and celebrates all the major holidays including the Super Bowl, baseball season. To know more about all the activities make sure to stop by our office any Friday morning to sign up to get our bi-monthly newsletter. The membership for Caterpillar retirees and spouses and/or friends to the Caterpillar Retirees Club is free the first year.
CLUB TRIPS TO LOCAL EVENTS
The Caterpillar Retirees Club schedules trips throughout the year. We have already scheduled two gambling trips to Rhythm City Casino in Davenport Iowa by Peoria Charter Coach on Wednesday June 15 and Wednesday October 5, 2016. If you interested in the gambling trips just contact Mary Remmers by leaving a message in the CRC office at (309) 699-5412. Also, be sure to call to get on the free mail list for the Bradley Olli (Osher Lifelong Learning Institute) brochure by calling (309) 677-3900 or on their web site at Bradley.edu/olli. The Bradley OLLI group has many local, regional day trips including an international trip scheduled for Italy from Saturday September 17, to Friday September 30, 2016 trip.
